Baseball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

Hampshire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-1 to the University Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-9 on Saturday.

Hampshire saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Channing Wilt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Brayden Hott also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hampshire's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for University, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Coming up, Hampshire will face off against Martinsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hampshire is facing Martinsburg at the right time seeing as Martinsburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for University, they will challenge The Linsly School at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
