Soccer Game Preview: Rockford East vs. Guilford

Rockford East hasn't had much luck against Guilford recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The E-Rabs will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Rockford East took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Harlem with a sharp 4-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Rockford East needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

They hit Harlem with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Banga Kabagamh (2), Dylan Pena, and Landyn Salgado.

Meanwhile, Guilford entered their tilt with Freeport on Tuesday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pretzels a 3-0 shutout. Considering Guilford have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Guilford's victory bumped their record up to 13-1-1. As for Rockford East, their win bumped their record up to 6-9-2.

Rockford East came up short against Guilford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the E-Rabs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
