Melbourne has gone a perfect 10-0 against Merritt Island recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Melbourne has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Melbourne lost 18-3 to Lake Mary on Wednesday.

Melbourne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Holton, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Ella Sutliff also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Merritt Island didn't have quite enough to beat Melbourne Central Catholic on Wednesday and fell 4-3.

Merritt Island has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Melbourne, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Everything went Melbourne's way against Merritt Island in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as Melbourne made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
