Soccer Game Preview: Capital vs. Greenbrier East + Official Tickets

Capital hasn't had much luck against Greenbrier East recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 1:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Capital's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Nicholas County. Abigail Robinette had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Capital.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier East had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Black Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win. Give Greenbrier East's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Capital's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-3. As for Greenbrier East, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-1.

Capital suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Greenbrier East when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
