Softball Recap: Choctawhatchee Comes Up Short

Choctawhatchee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Gulf Breeze Dolphins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dolphins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Alivia Vaughan was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Choctawhatchee's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Gulf Breeze, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Choctawhatchee will take on Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gulf Breeze, they will square off against Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Breeze's pitchers better be ready for this one: Navarre has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
