Basketball Game Preview: Middleburg Broncos vs. Clay Blue Devils

The Middleburg Broncos will face off against the Clay Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Middleburg is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Episcopal School of Jacksonville on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Middleburg was dealt a 66-32 loss at the hands of Episcopal School of Jacksonville. The Broncos were down 58-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Clay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 46-11 to Fleming Island, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-5.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Middleburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Middleburg strolled past Clay in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 46-27. Will Middleburg repeat their success, or does Clay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
