Recap: Villa Rica Wildcats vs. Tri-Cities Bulldogs
After flying high against the Creekside Seminoles on Saturday, the Villa Rica Wildcats came back down to earth. Villa Rica took a 93-80 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-Cities on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (70), Villa Rica still had to take the loss.
Malique Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten assists for Tri-Cities. The game was Johnson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tramarius Jones, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Villa Rica's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-8. As for Tri-Cities, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Villa Rica will head out on the road to face off against Midtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-Cities, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Tri-Cities likes a good challenge.
