Baseball Recap: Rancho Bernardo's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Rancho Bernardo won the last time they faced Mission Hills and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rancho Bernardo Broncos' pitcher stepped up to hand the Mission Hills Grizzlies a 3-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Not much got past Christopher Bayne, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Mission Hills off the board. The dominant performance gave Bayne a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Rancho Bernardo's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Reed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Reed has posted since back in April of 2024.

Rancho Bernardo's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mission Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will take on Santa Margarita at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mission Hills, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Rancho Bernardo at 4:00 p.m. on March 12th.
