Basketball Recap: Emma Madison's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shore Regional over Marlboro

Shore Regional was the 50-40 winner over Marlboro when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Shore Regional Blue Devils took a hard 54-37 fall against the Marlboro Mustangs on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were down 45-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Madison, who posted four points and six rebounds. Kimi Sayson was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 14 points along with five boards and four steals.

Shore Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Marlboro, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shore Regional will challenge Colts Neck at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlboro has already played their next contest (against Ranney), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
