Baseball Recap: Hunter Takes a Loss

Hunter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Cyprus Pirates, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-1 loss last Wednesday.

Hunter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Vaccaro, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Vaccaro hit this season.

Hunter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cyprus, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Looking ahead, Hunter will host Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cyprus, they will head out on the road to face off against West Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
