Softball Recap: Brooks Takes a Loss

Brooks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lawrence County Red Devils. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Brooks saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslie Bunch, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Bunch hit this season.

Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Lawrence County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 33-9-1.

Coming up, Brooks will head out on the road to challenge Sparkman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lawrence County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
