Recap: New Lexington Panthers vs. Fort Frye Cadets
After flying high against the Coshocton Redskins on Saturday, the New Lexington Panthers came back down to earth. New Lexington fell just short of Fort Frye by a score of 34-32. While losing is never fun, New Lexington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Fort Frye is ranked 72nd).
Despite the loss, New Lexington saw an underclassman step up: Chloe Dick scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. Dick scored a full 53.1% of New Lexington's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Abby Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
New Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Fort Frye, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
New Lexington is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Sheridan at 7:15 p.m. on December 6th. As for Fort Frye, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Linsly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
