Football Recap: Wendell Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wendell lost against Marsing back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans were dealt a 67-8 loss at the hands of the Huskies. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-8.

Beckett Yon threw for 72 yards and one TD. Santos Suarez was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Ben Chisham rushed for 46 yards.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Moises Montes and Noah Shelton. Montes gained 216 total yards and three touchdowns while Shelton gained 94 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Montes a new career-high in rushing yards (180).

Wendell is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Marsing, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wendell will face off against Grace at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marsing, they will venture away from home to square off against Ririe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
