Baseball Recap: Bourbon County Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Bourbon County's offense. They came up short against the Walton-Verona Bearcats on Monday, falling 8-0. The Colonels' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Bourbon County's loss dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Walton-Verona, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bourbon County will challenge Berea at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Walton-Verona, they will face off against Owen County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
