Baseball Recap: Cactus Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cortez last Friday, Cactus came back down to earth. The Cobras took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Deer Valley Skyhawks on Tuesday. The Cobras haven't had much luck with the Skyhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Cactus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Carlson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Cactus' defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Deer Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deer Valley beat Cactus by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.
