Basketball Recap: Johnston Comes Up Short

Johnston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 62-42 to the East Providence Townies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 59-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for East Providence, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Johnston will take on Cranston West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Providence, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tolman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Townies will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.48 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
