Baseball Game Preview: Carlinville Cavaliers vs. Pawnee Indians

The Carlinville Cavaliers will venture away from home to challenge the Pawnee Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlinville is looking for their season's first win.

Carlinville came up short against Jersey on Tuesday, falling 9-3.

Carlinville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Convery, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Blake Killam also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pawnee). Everything went their way against Bunker Hill on Tuesday as they made off with a 23-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won three in a row.

Carlinville's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Pawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Carlinville might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Pawnee in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
