Soccer Game Preview: Ponte Vedra vs. Lourdes Academy

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will take on Lourdes Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ponte Vedra sitting on six straight wins and Lourdes Academy on eight.

Ponte Vedra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged North Fort Myers out 2-1. The Sharks' winning goal came courtesy of Lily Morse.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Lourdes Academy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Cypress Creek on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over the Coyotes. The result was nothing new for Lourdes Academy, who have now won 11 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Ponte Vedra pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Lourdes Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
