Baseball Recap: Irrigon Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Paul

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Irrigon). They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the St. Paul Buckaroos on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Buckaroos back in March, they had to take a 9-2 loss.

Irrigon got a big performance out of Aiden Wells, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Wells a new career-high. Xander Olman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Irrigon and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irrigon will take on McLoughlin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Paul, they will square off against Country Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
