Baseball Recap: Redondo Union Gets the Win

Redondo Union was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Downey Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sea Hawks.

Geno Guerrero looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ian Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. KG Hattori was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Redondo Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Redondo Union now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Downey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
