Recap: Sterling Jets vs. Tri County Trojans
The Sterling Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Tri County 64-21. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sterling in their matchups with Tri County: they've now lost eight in a row.
Brody Horstman was Sterling's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Tri County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tayden Gronemeyer, who scored 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gronemeyer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Bales, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Tri County, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Sterling will be playing in front of their home fans against Freeman on Friday. Freemanpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sterling in Nebraska (Freeman is ranked 40th, while Sterling is ranked 268th). Tri County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
