Soccer Game Preview: El Capitan vs. Atwater

The El Capitan Gauchos are taking a road trip to take on the Atwater Falcons at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

El Capitan is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Merced on Wednesday. The Gauchos took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

Meanwhile, Atwater hasn't lost a match since January 5th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They never let Buhach Colony get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Atwater's winning goal came courtesy of Mark Turrey.

Atwater has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6-5 record this season. As for El Capitan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-4.
