Recap: Hyndman Charter School Hornets vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets
The Hyndman Charter School Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-39 walloping at the hands of Ferndale.
Ferndale can attribute much of their success to Derrick Buchkoski, who scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Buchkoski has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Hrivnak, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Hyndman Charter School dropped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Ferndale, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Hyndman Charter School will head out on the road to challenge Salisbury Elk Lick at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Salisbury Elk Lick is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Ferndale, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Shanksville Stonycreek is ranked 570th, while Ferndale is ranked 581st).
