League recap: Taft's Gee delivers best pitching performance from past week

South Sequoia league recap: 4/3/13

Steven Gee was the top pitcher in South Sequoia this week, leading Taft. Over the past week, he had two wins and 22 Ks.

Austin Sutton was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .476 average with eight RBIs. Wasco went 3-2.

Bakersfield Christian's pitchers have displayed incredible control over the past week and all season, giving up just six walks over the past seven days and 42 on the year, both No. 1 in the league.

The Tigers had a league-high 17 steals as a team this week, but still trail the Wildcats, which has 66 on the year, for the season lead.

The league boasted 11 .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Bryan Osorio, who hit 1.000 by going 3-for-3.



Bryan Osorio was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in five runs during Chavez's 16-6 win over Shafter. He went 3-for-3.

Gee struck out 12 in Taft's 7-2 win over the Titans on April 2. He gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings of work.
