Football Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Takes a Loss

Morristown-Hamblen East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the Karns Beavers and fell 51-12.

Karns' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Austin Slover led the charge by throwing for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Those 302 passing yards gave Slover a new career-high. Cameron George helped Slover out on the ground, rushing for 149 yards and one score.

Morristown-Hamblen East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Karns, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Morristown-Hamblen East will challenge West Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Karns, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West on the 24th.
