Football Recap: Betsy Layne Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Belfry, Betsy Layne was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Pike County Central Hawks. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bobcats considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Betsy Layne moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pike County Central, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Betsy Layne will host Leslie County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pike County Central, they will head out to square off against Powell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
