Volleyball Recap: Andover Huskies vs. Hudson Raiders
The Andover Huskies didn't have quite enough to beat the Hudson Raiders on Monday and fell 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Andover sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 21-25, 25-10, 20-25, 15-12.
Jada Johnson paced Andover's offense, picking up 12 kills. Johnson got some help from Taegan Groess and her 16 assists. Ali Dehnicke controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Hudson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaitlyn Drost led the charge by getting 12 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Drost a new career-high. Cora Dreher also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Andover now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Hudson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Andover will be playing at home against Champlin Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hudson, they are taking a road trip to challenge New Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
