Basketball Recap: Breathitt County Takes a Loss

Breathitt County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They lost 63-41 to the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Loss or not, Breathitt County got some senior leadership from Braxton Terry and Aaron Stallard. Terry posted nine points and five rebounds, while Stallard earned nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Collins, who had nine points.

Even though they lost, Breathitt County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Breathitt County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hazard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Breathitt County will take on Wolfe County in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Breathitt County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Hazard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-52 victory against Harlan County on the 14th.
