Volleyball Recap: Mercy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday, Mercy came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Mercy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-8, 25-23.

Sacred Heart Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Peyton Fu-Sarosa out in front who had 18 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Fu-Sarosa has posted over her last eight matches.

Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Sacred Heart Prep, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Mercy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Palo Alto on the 7th. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Menlo School on the 7th.
