Softball Recap: Versailles Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Versailles had lost 12 games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 4-14 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 15-11 win over the Stover Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Stover, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

For Stover's part, Gabriell Sidebottom was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Sidebottom also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Nash, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Versailles will head out to square off against Smithton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stover, they will take on Cole Camp at 5:00 p.m. on May 6.
