Recap: Moon Valley Rockets vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors
There's no place like home for the Moon Valley Rockets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 60-40 margin over Shadow Mountain. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Moon Valley has posted since December 15, 2023.
Moon Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin Gray led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Turberville, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Pierce Rogers and Tate Newport certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Rogers scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Newport scored nine points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Moon Valley pushed their record up to 9-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Shadow Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Moon Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Paradise Honors at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Paradise Honors focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday. Shadow Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Yuma is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
