Baseball Game Preview: San Jose Bulldogs vs. Overfelt Royals

San Jose hasn't had much luck against Overfelt recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Royals at 4:00 p.m. San Jose has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

San Jose is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Silver Creek, falling 14-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

San Jose saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Rodriguez has been hot, having posted two or more stolen bases the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Overfelt suffered their biggest defeat since March 11th on Thursday. They lost 19-8 to Yerba Buena. Royals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Aztec Warriors since on Thursday.

Overfelt's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5. As for San Jose, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Jose has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overfelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

San Jose suffered a grim 22-0 defeat to Overfelt in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
