Volleyball Recap: Vista Ridge Takes a Loss

Vista Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Liberty Lancers. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Vista Ridge sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12.

Shila Ansell paced Vista Ridge's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ansell got some help from Toryn Dempsey and her 16 assists. Dempsey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Liberty, their victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Vista Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they will head out to challenge Pueblo West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
