Trevis Halsey Has Career-Day on Friday

Starting off the list is Elkhorn Valley's Trevis Halsey, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Halsey rushed for 151 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

The win got Elkhorn Valley back to even at 1-1. Halsey and Elkhorn Valley will head out to take on Humphrey-Lindsay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Michael Koenig continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his third-straight game with (dating back to last season) with at least three passing touchdowns. He threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. He was up against Crofton, which might explain his strong game: he put up some impressive numbers the last time he faced them back in August of 2023.

Jazee Ames helped snap Lutheran-Northeast's four-game losing streak dating back to last season on Friday. Ames rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The victory got Lutheran-Northeast back to even at 1-1. Ames' next match is against Hartington-Newcastle on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Stanton pushed their record up to 2-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Wilke and Stanton will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Central Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Plainview Benefited from Lingenfelter in 34-14 Win

Rounding off our Top Five is Karter Lingenfelter of Plainview. Lingenfelter rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Plainview and bumps their season record up to 2-0. Lingenfelter and Plainview will face off against Crofton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
