Kaukauna had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Appleton West on Thursday. The Galloping Ghosts were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Terrors. The Galloping Ghosts haven't had any issues with the Terrors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 26-24.

Claire Gerrits paced Kaukauna's offense, picking up ten kills. Gerrits were helped by Azlyn Fulcer and Brenna Matthies, who contributed nine assists each. Kala Lahm controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Kaukauna's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Appleton West, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Kaukauna and Appleton West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Galloping Ghosts will challenge Bay Port at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (217 vs. 23). Meanwhile, Appleton West (ranked 379th) will meet Kimberly (ranked 15th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
