Basketball Recap: Nazir Russell Key Part of a Team Effort in Gladiators Win

Goodwin Tech won the last time they faced Norwich RVT and things went their way on Friday too. The Goodwin Tech Gladiators strolled past the Norwich RVT Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 67-48. The Gladiators didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Goodwin Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nazir Russell led the charge by going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and seven rebounds. Russell's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Amare Robinson was another key player, going 6 of 14 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and six assists.

Goodwin Tech's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Norwich RVT, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Goodwin Tech will challenge Kaynor RVT at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Norwich RVT, they will square off against Old Saybrook at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
