Soccer Recap: Fort Plain Comes Up Short

The Fort Plain Hilltoppers came up short against the Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Fort Plain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 458th, while Cobleskill-Richmondville are ranked 128th).

Fort Plain has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season. As for Cobleskill-Richmondville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1.

Fort Plain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cobleskill-Richmondville, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Mekeel Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m.
