Football Game Preview: Walnut Springs Hornets vs. Covington Owls

Walnut Springs is on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Covington a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Walnut Springs Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Covington Owls at 7:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Walnut Springs blew Ranger out of the water the last time the pair played, but back in August Ranger got their revenge. The Hornets fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Covington fell victim to Milford and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 35th).
