Baseball Recap: Mobile Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Mobile Christian had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Foley Lions 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Leopards have posted since February 28th.

Ethan McLarty looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Aiden Gaston was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Bryce Rivers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

Mobile Christian's record now sits at 5-13. As for Foley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Mobile Christian is taking a road trip to face off against Gulf Shores at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Gulf Shores will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Mobile Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Foley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-4 loss against McGill-Toolen on the 22nd.
