Basketball Recap: Holden Takes a Loss

Holden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knob Noster Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 59-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Holden lost, don't look at Kolby Hill. Despite the final result, he went 12-for-27 en route to 35 points and six rebounds. That was a full 60.3% of the Eagles' points, marking the fourth time in a row Hill has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Owen Doogs, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 12 points and five boards.

Holden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Knob Noster, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Coming up, Holden will venture away from home to take on Drexel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Knob Noster, they will be home for the holidays to greet Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
