Basketball Recap: Tacony Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Tacony Academy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Franklin Towne Warriors on the road by a 67-50 margin. The Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 53-47 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Tacony Academy Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Malik James posted 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kylil Anderson, who had 12 points.

Carlo Quattrone had a dynamite game for Franklin Towne, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Quattrone is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Tyson Tatum was another key player, putting up 12 points and six assists.

Tacony Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Franklin Towne, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Tacony Academy Charter will head out to challenge Penn Treaty at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin Towne, they will welcome Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Towne is facing Philadelphia Electric Charter at the right time seeing as Philadelphia Electric Charter is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
