Basketball Recap: Bismarck Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Mandan

Mandan typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Bismarck proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 51-47 W over the Mandan Braves. The win was all the more spectacular given the Demons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Braves are ranked first).

Bismarck's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Mandan, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2.

Coincidentally, Bismarck and Mandan will both be playing Jamestown the next time they take the court. Bismarck will host Jamestown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Mandan will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
