After a string of four wins, South Caldwell's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freedom Patriots. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 86-65.

Freedom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kobe Johnson led the charge by putting up 14 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Johnson posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. King Johnson was another key player, going 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

South Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Freedom, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

South Caldwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-75 win against Southwest Guilford on the 25th. As for Freedom, they have also already played their next contest, an 81-77 victory against Watauga on the 21st.
