It was a good run, but Alcester-Hudson unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Vermillion Tanagers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cubs, who until this game were averaging 2.77 runs allowed.

Alcester-Hudson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delta Pies, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Vermillion, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alcester-Hudson will welcome Parker at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vermillion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yankton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
