Softball Recap: Ingleside Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

With a playoff win on the line, Ingleside rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Columbia Roughnecks get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kylee Ward's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, Ingleside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leilani Smith, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Ingleside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9-1.

Looking ahead, Ingleside will challenge Robstown on Saturday. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
