Basketball Recap: Northeast Find Success

Hardee came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Northeast, but Jy'Aira Washington wouldn't allow it. The Northeast Vikings walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Hardee Wildcats on Friday thanks in part to Washington, who went 9 for 19 on her way to 25 points. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Geniya Fisher, who posted three points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Despite the loss, Hardee still got an impressive performance from Tylia Graham, who scored 17 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Danaelle Pierre was another key player, putting up six points and 12 rebounds.

Northeast's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Hardee, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Northeast will challenge Osceola on Tuesday. As for Hardee, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberty at 7:00 p.m.
