Baseball Preview: Easley Green Wave vs. Westside Rams        
        
		
            
 Easley is 9-1 against Westside since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Tuesday. The Easley Green Wave will be staying on the road  to face off against the Westside Rams at 6:30  p.m. Easley is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.4  runs per game this season.
 On Saturday, Easley came up short against Science Hill  and fell  12-8. Easley has struggled against Science Hill recently, as their  game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
  Aaron Tolbert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jackson Rampey, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Westside was able to grind out a solid  victory over West-Oak on Wednesday, taking the game  9-4.
  Peyton Milford made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). Milford has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Milford was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brody Caudle, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.  MJ Lee was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Easley's defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 15-2. As for Westside, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Tuesday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Easley has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.5  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westside struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Easley took their  victory against Westside  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Easley since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
