Recap: El Capitan/Centennial Academy vs. Beaver Dam Diamondback
El Capitan/Centennial Academy stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 62-19 win over Beaver Dam at home. The victory was nothing new for El Capitan/Centennial Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Capitan/Centennial Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarita Timpson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Hammon, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Despite the defeat, Beaver Dam saw an underclassman step up: Crissy Medina scored nine points.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Beaver Dam, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Capitan/Centennial Academy will square off against Seligman at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Seligman comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Beaver Dam, they will head out on the road to face off against Fredonia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredonia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Beaver Dam is ranked 89th).
