Eastern had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cherokee Chiefs by a score of 31-22. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Chiefs back in January, they had to take a 46-35 defeat.

Eastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marlee Praesel led the charge by putting up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Leah Schuenemann, who posted seven points.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Eastern will head out to square off against Haddon Heights at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Cherokee, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Paul VI at 11:30 a.m.
