Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown South). They put the hurt on the Allentown Redbirds with a sharp 12-4 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tom Costello looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Middletown South got a big performance out of Mike Frandsen, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Frandsen a new career-high. Jack Concordia was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.
